Race report

Thanks for being part of our event yesterday evening. We hope you enjoyed the Waterfront5k last night, and if you were a newbie, we would love to see you back again sometime soon - the more numbers made the event more impressive and we had a great atmosphere out there on course, plus also before and after.

Last evening the Waterfront5k was humming with 116 runners & walkers on the start line.

We had 12 new & amazing participants for the season tonight, with 10 of them joining us for the first time ever - a special welcome to those people, we hope you had a great run around the Wellington Harbour with us.

Excluding the new runners tonight we had 24 runners & walkers set Season or Lifetime Waterfront 5k PBs tonight - Congrats!

The weather this evening for a change was not extremely hot, thanks to a strong breeze from the north - Occasionally it is good to change the weather about! (what is your preference, hot or windy????)

Top three Men on course tonight were Will Critchlow in 17:48, followed by Timothy Judge and Frank Smith

On the ladies side tonight top three were Emma Barrett (in 20:35), followed by Lucy Lawlor & Mikalya Joyce

The first walker home was Clive McGovern jointly in 30:46, and first female walker was Kim Payton in 42:34

Again, congratulations to all who took part tonight we look forward to seeing you all again this summer

Looking for photos from this week?

Rowan was out on the course (somewhere) taking photos - they will be possibly be posted in the next day or so on his blog - located here: http://rowanglive.blogspot.co.nz/

Thanks for being there to take the photos Rowan!

Scottish Pacers & Helpers - Thank you!

Big thanks to the volunteers from Scottish Athletics for the help last night, with registration, pacing and on the finish line (it was slightly more manic than usual with the increased numbers and the testing of the timing system (more work on that to happen!).

Thanks to Macs Brewbar for the use of their area as our registration and the prizegiving location. And for those participants that made use of the location post run to relax and socialise. (hope you made use of the discount on the back of your race bibs!)

Again thank you all! - We look forward to seeing you next week.
