It was a hot and still night on the waterfront, which of course meant we had a crowded waterfront to run through as Wellington got out and enjoyed a wonderful summer evening. And last night we implemented an alternative course due to the building of the stages for Homegrown. All up we had 134 participants out on course enjoying the Wellington harbourside.
We had 19 new participants for the season tonight, with 12 of them joining us for the first time ever - special welcome to those people, we hope you had a great run around the Wellington Harbour with us.
Excluding the new runners tonight we had 46 runners & walkers set Season or Lifetime Waterfront 5k PBs tonight - Congrats! - So the hot and crowded conditions did not seem to impact on the speeds out there last night!
Top three Men on course tonight were Harry Burnard in 15:43, ahead of Paull Mulholland and Scott Russell.
On the ladies side tonight top three were Tamara Winkler in 18:17, ahead of Nat Hardaker and Nadia Jones.
The first walker home was Karen Jenkinson in 39:49.
Congratulations to all who took part tonight we look forward to seeing you all again this summer.
We hope the Pacers from Scottish were a motivation and helped you get through to a goal time. So thank you Niam, Bede, Scott, James, Lindsay, & Megan for last nights efforts.
If you would like pacers of different times, let us know. and we will see what Scottish can arrange. They are planning to have at least 3 pacers most nights, and they will set the pace times based on requests (and who is available)
Also a big thanks to the Master Mens from the Scottish Athletics for the help last night with registration and Finish line - it is greatly appreciated.
Thanks to Macs Brewbar for the use of their area as our registration and prizegiving location. And for those participants that made use of the location post run to relax and socialise.
If you have any feedback / questions on the results or the event in general - please feel free to drop us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Again thank you all.
