T'was the week before Xmas and the waterfront was a humming, with parties and celebrations all around. The sun was out and the wind was low, making for a good (though crowded) evening for the Waterfront 5k participants this week.
With Xmas Cheer in full swing around the businesses we still managed to have an impressive 109 Runners and Walkers joining us on the waterfront on Tuesday evening. Congrats to you all! (And thank you!)
We had 17 new participants for the season tonight, with 9 of them joining us for the first time ever - special welcome to those people, we hope you had a great fun in the sun with us!
Excluding the new runners tonight we had 29 runners & walkers set Season or Lifetime Waterfront 5k PBs tonight - Congrats! (The conditions out there must have been somewhat favourable, even with the crowds everywhere!)
Top three Men on course tonight were Matthew Moloney in 16:46, ahead of Matt Bonner and Will Critchlow.
On the ladies side tonight top three were Natalie Hardaker in 19:58, ahead of Sophie Dickson and Emma Bassett.
The first walker home was Sean Lake in 28:46 and Diane Morgan was the first Women walker home in 35:22.
Congratulations to all who took part tonight we look forward to seeing you all again this summer
We hope the Pacers from Scottish were a motivation and helped you get through to a goal time. So thank you Rowan, Niam Harry, Michael and Rebecca for last nights efforts.
If you would like pacers of different times, let us know. and we will see what Scottish can arrange. They are planning to have at least 3 pacers most nights, and they will set the pace times based on requests (and who is available)
Also a big thanks to the Master Men from the Scottish Athletics for the help last night with registration and Finish line - it is greatly appreciated.
And Congratulations to Regan Gunther for winning the third months Participation spot prize (being the $200 voucher from Shoe CLinic), a new four week block starts in January when we return.
If you have any feedback / questions on the results or the event in general - please feel free to drop us an email (@ firstname.lastname@example.org)
Again thank you all.
We are now taking a short break for the next two Tuesdays, we will see you back on the waterfront on January 10th
