Six weeks, and at last we have the perfect, sunny windless evening for the Waterfront 5k, of course this meant we were sharing the waterfront with a lot more individuals out strolling int he great conditions.
We ended up with 110 Runners and Walkers joining us on the waterfront last night. Congrats to you all! (And thank you!)
We had 23 new participants for the season tonight, with 12 of them joining us for the first time ever - special welcome to those people.
Excluding the new runners tonight we had 43 runners & walkers set Season PBs tonight (ie you went quicker than in the first five weeks) - Congrats!
Top three Men on course tonight were Jamie White (in 16:49) ahead Simon Keller (for his first appearance this summer - 37 seconds behind) and then Matt Bonner (in 17:40).
On the ladies side tonight top three were Phoebe McKnight (in 18:07 - and 4th overall) followed by Amanda Broughton (20 seconds back), and Nat Hardaker (in 19:46).
The first walker home was Clive McGovern in 30:24 (for the fourth week in a row, and fours seconds quicker than last week) and Diane Morgan was the first Women walker home in 35:36 (2 seonds quicker than her winning time last week).
Congratulations to all who took part tonight we look forward to seeing you all again this summer
We hope the Pacers from Scottish were a motivation and helped you get through to a goal time. So thank you Harry, Niam, James, & Lindsay - Looking at the results they did well coming in near or just under each of their goal times. And we know some of you used them well to acheive your goals last night
If you would like pacers of different times, let us know. and we will see what Scottish can arrange. They are planning to have at least 3 pacers most nights, and they will set the pace times based on requests (and who is available)
Also a big thanks to the Walkers from the Scottish Athletics for the help last night - much appreciated. (and the best packdown of the car with gear post event - much appreciated by Daryl!)
Thanks to Macs Brewbar for the use of their area as our registration and prizegiving location. And for those participants that made use of the location post run to relax and socialise.
If you have any feedback / questions on the results or the event in general - please feel free to drop us an email (@ firstname.lastname@example.org)
Again thank you all.
Please note: results layout has been altered around from previous weeks - we are now separating the results by event option (ie Walk / Run and by Gender)
