Third week back for the waterfront 5k, and another North-wester blowing - but that did not stop 145 Wellington Runners and Walkers for joining us on the waterfront last night. Congrats to you all! (And thank you!)
We have 44 new participants for the season tonight, 18 of them first time to the Waterfront 5k - So welcome for the first time, or welcome back to you all.
Excluding the new runners tonight we had 63 runners & walkers set Season PBs tonight (ie you went quicker than the first two weeks - in stronger winds?!) - Congrats!
Again I am still wondering about howmuch quicker everyone could be if not having to fight the winds on a still calm evening!
We have two runners still unidentifed from last night - if you ( or knew who ) ran with Bibs 250 or 251 - drop us an email so we can fix their results
Top three Men on course tonight were Harry Burnard (in 16:05) ahead Hiro Tani (3 seconds behind) and then Ben Twyman (in 16:41).
On the ladies side tonight top three were Amanda Broughton (in 18:14) followed by Rebecca Elliot (20 seconds behind), and Melissa Beeler (in 19:45).
The first walker home was Clive McGovern in 30:25 and Diane Morgan was the first Women walker home in 34:02.
Congratulations to all who took part tonight we look forward to seeing you all again this summer
Please check out the Wellingtonian this week - hopefully we will have a great little article in there with a great photo from Andrew at ATPhotos) - and keep an eye on our Facebook page as we upload more of Andrew's photos
We hope the Pacers from Scottish were a motivation and helped you get through to a goal time. So thank you Rowan, Josh, Niam & the other two whose names I didn't note down (whoops!).
If you would like pacers of different times, let us know. and we will see what Scottish can arrange. They are planning to have at least 3 pacers most nights, and they will set the pace times based on requests (and who is available)
Also a big thanks to the Senior Men team from the Scottish Athletics for the help last night (who manged to help with the rego process and then joined in and ran hard and fast!)
Thanks to Macs Brewbar for the use of their area as our registration and prizegiving location. And for those participants that made use of the location post run to relax and socialise.
If you have any feedback / questions on the results or the event in general - please feel free to drop us an email (@ firstname.lastname@example.org)
Again thank you all! - That was, yet again, an amazing turn out last night!
Please note: results layout has been altered around from previous weeks - we are now separating the results by event option (ie Walk / Run and by Gender)
