Race report
92 keen runners and walkers, including a large group of young runners from the Trentham Club, fronted for the 6th Lifestyle Sports Waterfront 5k of the new season. And it was great to see so many new competitors along tonight.
This week we welcomed a new sponsor - Pak n Save Kilbirnie. They will be supplying us with a couple of bags of goodies each week.
The weather was yet again perfect, resulting in some excellent times being posted. What an amazing run of weather we have had to start the series.
Leading everyone home for the 3rd week in a row was Ben Twyman, with a time of 16min 41sec, with Adam Steinmetz 2nd. Emily Solsberg recorded an excellent 18min 40sec to be first female finisher. Fraser Samson (30min 44sec) and Terri Grimmett (30min 48sec) had a great battle in the walking race.
A big thanks to our awesome sponsors - Pak n Save Kilbirnie, Lifestyle Sports for the weekly gift voucher and Chicago Sports Cafe for the free drink afterwards and bar tabs as spot prizes.
And thanks to the team from Wellington Scottish Athletics Club's Masters Men section for the excellent officiating.
