We had an excellent turnout of 108 keen runners and walkers, despite the distractions of Guy Fawkes night and the Melbourne Cup. Weather conditions were ideal - fine and calm making for good times.
Leading everyone home was Daniel Hunt, with a great time of 16min 37sec. Our first female runner was mountain running and stair climbing Queen Melissa Moon, making her first appearance of the season, running an 19.20. Fraser Samson had another win in the Men's walk (30min 38sec), while Leeanne Palmer (35 min 59sec) won the women's walk in a fast time.
Sorry we couldn't provide a refreshing drink after the race tonight. We hadn't anticipated Chicago Bar would be quite so busy with Melbourne Cup parties. But come along next week as we will being having 2 free drinks for everyone afterwards!
Last week marked the start of our annual participation competition. Be into win a brand new top of the line 32 inch SHARP TV, just in time for Christmas! Between 29 October and the end of the year, compete in just 3 of the Tuesday night races and you will be in the draw for the new TV. And if you do at least 5 races, we will give you an extra entry in the draw! The draw will be on 17 December, and to win you will need to be present at Chicago Bar at 6.15pm when we make the draw. So keep turning up, and be into win. And of course the more times you race, the greater the chance of a Personal Best time!
