Race report
It was great to see 118 keen runners and walkers fronting for the first Lifestyle Sports Waterfront 5k for 2012. Keep the positive approach to fitness going in the weeks ahead, and use the 5k races to build up for Round the Bays on 26 Feb!
A lot of good times were recorded, indicating a disciplined approach to training over the holiday period. Leading everyone home was Grant McLean with a sharp time of 15min 58sec, with Canadian mountain running rep James Richardson 22sec behind in 2nd. Gabby O'Rourke won the women's race with a time of 18min 06sec, 19sec ahead of Stephanie Mackenzie. John Roskvist recorded another win (30min 10sec) in the men's walk while Terri Grimmett (30min 52sec) was first women walker.
