133 runners and walkers fronted for the final Lifestyle Sports Waterfront 5k for 2011. And it was a great night for racing with fine and calm conditions.
Leading everyone home was Cameron Goldsmid with a sharp time of 15min 47sec, with top Masters runner Grant McLean 2nd. Gabby O'Rourke won the women's race with an excellent time of 17min 24sec, with Emily Solsberg 2nd. John Roskvist recorded another win (29min 1sec) in the men's walk while Terri Grimmett (30min 1sec) was first women walker.
A special thanks to the sponsors of the participation competition: Noel Leeming Tory Street (for the iPod Nano Touch); Wadestown Gourmet Butchery (for the 3 export quality Christmas lambs); and Bohemein Chocolates for the superb boxes of chocolates. The competition concluded tonight with everyone who did at least 3 races over the last 4 weeks in the draw for the great prizes.
And of course thanks to our usual sponsors - in particular Lifestyle Sports for the weekly gift voucher and Chicago Sports Cafe for the free drink afterwards and bar tabs as spot prizes.
The series now takes a two week break before resuming on 10 January. Thanks for your support of the series in 2011. We look forward to seeing you back in 2012. Have a great Christmas.
