107 keen runners and walkers fronted for the 12th Lifestyle Sports Waterfront 5k. The sky was clear but a strong northerly wind made it tough going, especially in the last km.
Leading everyone home was Cary Chaffee (repeating his win in the first race of the series) with a very good time of 15min 42sec. Gabby O'Rourke ran a sharp time to win the women's section with time of 17min 48sec. John Roskvist recorded another win (30min 18sec) in the men's walk while Terri Grimmett (30min 7sec) was first women walker in an excellent time.
A big thanks to our sponsors - in particular Lifestyle Sports for the weekly gift voucher and Chicago Sports Cafe for the free drink afterwards and bar tabs as spot prizes. Lifestyle has a very extensive range of running shoes. If you can't get to the shop in Tawa, send Manager Karen an email (email@example.com). She would be more than happy to answer your questions or source a pair of your favourite shoes.
We look forward to seeing you all back again in the coming weeks. Spread the word around your friends and workmates. Issue a few challenges and then enjoy some post race analysis over a beer.
We had a computer glitch at registration tonight, so some race numbers may have been mixed up in the results. If you do spot any errors with our results, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
